I went to walgreens in search of the perfect green for nails I was doing today. The gentlemen in front of me at the check out had this polish amongst a ton of Seahawks themed item for the game tonight. So of course I snatched these babies up. If your not even a Seahawks fan, you gotta admit, these colors are amazing!

Fall Leaf Manicure. Fall 2012

I recently made a beautiful fall glitter polish. Link here http://rainysunraysnails.blogspot.com/2012/09/reuse-your-old-clear-coat.html So of course a tutorial using these popped into my head right away!

This is one coat of Suzi The 7 Dusseldorfs by OPI

Sponge on the same base color and a copper. I used Figure Art Out from Finger Paints

Clean up the edges with polish remover and q-tip.
You could leave it like this and add a top coat. The color combo is perfect for fall.

I went ahead and added my new leaf glitter! One coat.

Then a nice thick top coat. You may need to coats of top coat, depending on your glitter.

This reminds me of leaves blowing in the wind. Happy Fall to all!!

Reuse Your Old Clear Coat!

If you're like me then you probably have some almost out clear coat laying around that you just can't bring yourself to throw away. You think one day I will find a good use for that! Well, today is that day!
I made a trip down to my local craft store and picked up some beautiful glitters. You can probably already guess where I'm going with this. So let's jump in to the pictures!
This one was Sally Hansen Double Duty clear coat. And now it's a beautiful Fall Leaf Glitter!!

I had a 40% off coupon so I went ahead and purchased Martha Stewart! And then there was four packs for $1 as well.

Some up close pictures of theses beauties.

I will be doing a lot of Fall designs. So, I decided to mix up these babies.

Then I added more of another left over to the bottle I was working with.

And there you go!!!
Keep in mind that this glitter and some others may bleed or be heavy in the bottle. If the glitter settles just give it a good shake. If it bleeds you may need to purchase a more high end glitter. This one did bleed very little but stayed in tact.
Here is the first manicure I did with my new leaf glitter.

Tutorial for this mani is just a click away right here! http://rainysunraysnails.blogspot.com/2012/09/fall-leaf-manicure-fall-2012.html

Fall FLower Pattern. Fall 2012

For these I used a grey base color and then an art pen for the vines and leaves. Then  picked out 2 different pinks and dotted on the flowers and added a yellow center. Last, I Matted the nail.

Easy Dotting Design Manicure

For this easy tutorial I used:
A dotting tool
butter London Queen Vic and Scoundrel
I topped it off with Matte finish also from butter London

You could do this mani with any color combo you wish. The outcome will look great!

Start off with two coats of your base color.

Next create a half circle across your nails with your second color. This can be done either with the stroke of the nail polish brush or by taping off the nail. If you decide to use tape, be sure the polish is completely dry.

Next place the dots along the line as you see in the picture below using the base color.

Then with your second color, place dots on the other side of the line in between the other dots.

Go back and place smaller dots,of the opposite color,on the first dots.

You could put a nice clear coat on these if you wish. I went ahead and made them a Matte finish.

I hope you try this out!
