Sailor Striped Cherry Manicure.

Just a quick nail post of this manicure I did yesterday. I used nail tape for the lines. But you could just stripe on your lines if you don't have the tape. hope you like these!

Unrelated Nail Post/ Fun Crafting with Old Cayons!!!

Yes, I do realise this is completely unrelated to nails. But I was so very proud of myself today I just had to share!
Julian (my son) has new crayons that are in a twist up type of thing. Which makes them unbreakable. So, we had some old crayons laying around that he had no interest in anymore. I had seen somewhere that you can melt them down and remake them into other shapes. I happened to have awesome mini muffin tins that are many different shapes. Here is the web site I used for my instructions.  http://jamiebrock.hubpages.com/hub/Recycle-Old-Crayons-into-New-Crayons

Now I am just going to post pictures of the steps I took. The link is pretty detailed and easy to follow.

My dad came into the house and almost ate one of these. He thought it was chocolate!
I loved making these!

Dots Are So Fun!!! Fall Nail Art 2012

This look can be created without stamping first. Just create large dots with the end of an eraser or pen in orange first. Then start with the other dots.
                                                                      Inspiration!
For this manicure choose similar colors. No need to use exactly what I did.

Base color in brown.

Either start with large orange dots or if you have this cheeky plate then use that.

Then place random dots in every color you have picked out. Layer the the dots in different colors also.

Finish with a top coat.

Very easy, but looks hard.

Abstract Fall Leaves. Fall Nail Art 2012

Start off with a light brown base. I used e.l.f. in Smoky Brown.

Take your black stripe polish or fine art brush and black polish.
Start at the thumb when drawing the branch. Make it more dense in the thumb and thin the branches out to the pinkie.

Then add smaller branches.

Next take a doter or tooth pick and start placing random dots throughout the branches.
For my leaves I am using SallyHansen in Malt (Nude) Ulta in CreamoftheCrop (Light Yellow) Sinful Colors in VacationTime (A Light Brown with a hint of Pink)
I started with S.H.

Then add smaller dots onto the those with The Sinful Colors.

Next dot on some of the light yellow from Ulta. And then add smaller dots to the yellow using the S.H. Malt.

Finally add a nice top coat.

See you soon!

Fall Retro Nails.Fall Nail Art 2012

A simple fall manicure anyone can do! I love this color combo. Perfect for this time of year. Enjoy!

For this mani I used:
A light blue (Orly in Snowcone)
Brown (Fingerpaints in Hue Are You)
Orange (O.P.I. in Chopsticking to My Story)
Off white (Orly in Decades of Dysfunction)
And a Nude (Sally Hansen in Malt)
Note: You don't need to use an off white. you can skip that color if needed.
A large Dotting tool or the end of a pen or eraser.
And a nice fast dry top coat.

Start by painting each nail with each color as in the picture below.

Next paint a half circle at the tip of your nail with different colors. This doesn't need to be a perfect circle. In fact when you start placing the other dots on, it will look better uneven.

Then with a large dotting tool or the end of a pen. (You can even use the end of an eraser) Dip it into another color and place the dot of color off set in the half circle. Repeat that with another color inside that circle.

Next add a top coat and that's it!

Of course I had to see what it looked like in Matte.

Some contrasting pictures.
